Winter's Thrall is a heavy gothic metal band. The style is unique, best described as gothic dark metal. Winter's Thrall incorporates elements of Black Metal, Gothic Rock, Industrial Rock, Gothic Doom, Gothic Black Metal, Gothic Electro and Gothic Darkwave. We get played on Gothic radio and black metal radio a lot, if that says anything about people's tastes and how they view us. Winter's Thrall is one of New York's premier metal gothic bands.
Former Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir drummer Nick Barker is featured on the forthcoming album, Anomie (2010). The songs were recorded in the U.K., with production by Greg Brimson (Rammstein, Paradise Lost, Metallica) and engineering by producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, Defenestration and Brutal Deluxe - who gave us our first gig in London!)
Brimson describes the initial album demo as "pure genius," with Barker adding, "It made all the hairs on my body stand up."
